In 2019 we installed a pilot prepaid water ATM for the NGO Hewasa who got funding for this project from Protos in Belgium.
In Nyakera we installed for AFRST (Action for Rural Social Transformation) 2 prepaid water ATMs per mid 2019. The people in Nyakera at first had to walk to the lake to fetch water from the lake. They can now get 24-7 water in the village itself. The water is still water from the lake, but it is now treated.
