Prepaid Smart Water Meter with LoRaWAN Gateway (AMI)
Automated Meter Infrastructure Enables remote management of smart water meters from the utility office by a 2-way communication between the meters and the office. This communication is enabled via hardware and network connectivity – smart water meters and LoRaWAN Gateway – using the LoRaWAN communication protocol. A command sent by the user on the management system is delivered to the smart water meter through the LoRaWAN gateway. Verse versa, any information from the smart water meter is collected by the LoRaWAN gateway and sent to the management system. This enables the following functionalities;
- Remote automatic smart water meter top-up after token purchase (no need for manually entering token into smart water meter)
- Remote monitoring data collection e.g. water usage, error/tamper codes
- Inbuilt leak detection ability
- LoRaWAN gateways communicate with all smart water meters up to a 5km radius.
